Why Optional Mondays
The honest reason why I created Optional Mondays.
Why Optional Mondays
In all honesty, the reason I created Optional Mondays is because I've had a realization this year that the amount of vacation days I have are limited before my oldest turns eighteen. What that means to me is missing the moments that make memories.
I don't want to leave the corporate world because I don't love what I do. I have an immense gratitude for my job. I just want to create a world in which I have the freedom to choose. And I want the same for you. I want to help others achieve the same goal.
Optional Mondays isn't about becoming a millionaire overnight or hustle culture. It's about creating enough of a financial margin that allows you to choose. The ability to choose to take a lower-paying job that you enjoy. Staying home with your kids for the summer. Starting a business you've dreamed about or simply being able to sleep better because things are moving in the right direction.
Optional Mondays is a symbol of freedom. It's the day you realize work is something you choose to do, not something that owns you.
This publication is my attempt to build that life in public.
I'll be sharing advice I wish I was given in my twenties and thirties, lessons I learn along the way and tools that have genuinely helped. You'll find practical guides, calculators, long-form articles, downloadable resources, and honest reflections from someone figuring it out along the way.
Never stop asking yourself, "How does this buy me more freedom?"
